Bio

I graduated from The University of Texas with an Electrical Engineering degree. However, I've always loved programming, and I've been doing it in one capacity or another since middle school on my TI-83 calculator.Out of college, I joined a small company called Texas Memory Systems that developed a line of enterprise rack-mounted storage appliances called RamSan. It was eventually acquired by IBM for its flash IP, and we're continuing to release products today under the name of IBM FlashSystem. My role has always been to solve the harder problems, find better ways to do things that we're doing more efficiently, and to ensure other engineers understand the project and best practices through documentation and communication. In this way, I've written my own test automation engine that's still in use today, wrote APIs for external teams to interface with our product, overhauled much of our internal infrastructure to be easier to use and understand, and cobbled together an application using Elasticsearch, MongoDB, and Celery for digesting system information so that it can be queried to debug discover issues across many different incidents.

I am good at

I'm best at solving abstract problems involving interactions between many different pieces.
