Bio

Asanka founded Perituza (peritu is latin for ‘expert’) in 2012 when he noticed a growing IT skill shortage in the UK and Ireland. Because of the inherent nature of IT, Asanka knew that it could be done from anywhere around the world--so he leveraged his global connections and started problem-solving. Born and raised in Sri Lanka but now making his home in Dublin, Ireland, Asanka has been on all sides of the remote staffing experience. He has worked with and managed offshore teams (previously working remotely as well), and recognized that with the right tools and process, a skilled team can get the job done from anywhere. Asanka started his career with a BSc in IT and a post-graduate diploma in information management. As a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist--and having been a senior software developer himself--Asanka ensures that his high standards of excellence are met by all staff employed by Perituza. When Asanka isn’t busy with Perituza, he prioritizes social responsibility. Asanka provides an annual scholarship to students in Sri Lanka to help them further their education, and he has been a mentor in the non-profit technology club for young people, Coder Dojo in Ireland.
