Karen has a B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Community Development. She has over 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, and has worked in nearly every facet of the field, including community organizing, volunteer management, program management, grantwriting, grantmaking, network development, training and recruiting. She has raised and managed over $2.5 million. She has been an intrapraneur and entrepreneur establishing: 4 grant making programs that provided funds to over 50 community-based organizations (including seed funding 10 schools who started student-run triple bottom line businesses), 10 coalitions in three different states that included over 1000 member organizations, and a professional network that included nearly 200 social innovators.
