Bio
Sean is an educator originally from Southwest Florida, but made it to Austin by way of Denver, CO where he spent 5 years as a teacher and graduate student at the University of Denver. After receiving an MA in Curriculum and Instruction, Sean spent 4 years as a high school English, broadcast journalism and STEM teacher. Sean helped to start both an online broadcast journalism class as well as a first-of-its-kind STEM lab and digital media studio for high school students. Started in 2012, the EdTech Austin meetup group has grown to over 800 members, including teachers, administrators, developers, edtech founders and lots of other folks interested in educational technology and education in general. Sean is currently an Assessment Specialist and Startup Mentor with Pearson.
