Job Overview

 

We are looking for a Copywriter / Voice User Interface Design Intern to join our team this summer! This internship offers the opportunity to gain real-world experience in the voice user interface design and education. As a conversational designer, you will be responsible for developing the dialogue and user flows of our voice interactions. You will also learn how to engage creatively with a voice-only interface rather than a screen. If you can write convincing dialogue that keeps users invested in the conversation and are up for the challenge we want to hear from you!

 

Responsibilities

 

• Participate collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Assist in creating and developing detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes which effectively communicate voice interaction and design ideas
• Help create a conversation script/ UI for Alexa, Google Home, and other voice interfaces
• Collaborate with team members to develop a voice user interface design which ensures a consistent brand-experience for users
• Design a complete set of conversational UI assets
• Learn when to simplify language to communicate ideas and when to use specialized language to establish credibility
• Learn how to empathize with users across a wide range of subjects

 

Required Qualifications

• Current student (either graduate or undergraduate) or recent graduate in Communications, Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Application Design, HCI or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Extensive knowledge of the English language, strong writing skills and impeccable grammar
• Experience with creative writing and design for conversational AI and voice interaction flows
• Experience with creating voice user experiences (e.g. Alexa, Google Home)
• Experience working with personas
