We’ll start with our normal open networking meet & greet from 7:00p-7:15p. Free appetizers and beverages will be provided by Hitachi Global Social Innovation Business (SIB).

Then after that, we will be hosting a joint Austin IoT and ASQ Austin event where the speaker, Chuck Reeves, SME for Smart Spaces and Video Intelligence Division of Hitachi Vantara, will present a riveting presentation entitled ‘A Video Centric Society’.

Chuck's talk will begin with an introduction and background of the speaker, and will cover how video is used today, including an overview of video analytics, privacy and video retention. Also covered will be future trends in video centric environments. Chuck’s presentation will be followed by an interactive question and answer session with the audience.

Chuck will be followed by a demonstration of an IoT camera application by Adil Dalal, Director Solution Architecture, Hitachi Global Social Innovation Business. Adil will provide a hands-on demonstration of how a simple motion sensor and camera can be converted to an intelligent IoT device, with image and video capabilities.

Following Adil's presentation there will then be an announcement of an upcoming IoT workshop series by Austin IoT officers, David Brixius and Darren Swan, beginning in July, 2018.

The meeting will conclude with the induction of the first ever Austin IoT Board of Directors into office. The new Board will consist of Founder and co-CEO, David Brixius, President & co-CEO, Adil Dalal, and CTO, Darren Swan. Also inducted this night will be David Fowler, as the first member of Austin IoT's new Board of Advisers.

This is a special meetup for Austin IoT. In commemoration of our new direction, Hitachi Global Social Innovation Business (SIB) will be sponsoring appetizers and beverages for the event. Chuck Reeves is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Smart Spaces and Video Intelligence Division of Hitachi Vantara, based in Santa Clara, CA. With a corporate background of strategic sales and business development, Chuck's in-depth understanding of Smart Cities technologies, video intelligence and analytics is supported by 18 years in the industry with companies such as Tiburon (Tritech), Intergraph and more recently, Motorola Solutions. Chuck resides in Richardson, TX, where he enjoys weekend travel and family time with his three grandchildren.

Adil Dalal is Director, Solution Architecture for Hitachi, Global SIB. He is also the incoming President and co-CEO of Austin IoT. He is certified in IoT and in IoT Digital Business Transformation. Adil’s passion is to use IoT, Machine Learning and Artificial intelligence to improve the quality of human life, while at the same time making organizations more profitable.
