Bio

I am a self-taught programmer, I started learning in the fall of 2015 with Python and fell in love with it. I have created a Python library available on GitHub(see below for link), as well as scripts for automating geo-processing tasks in ArcGIS. I can code in Java at an intermediate level. In November of 2017 I reached level 5 in the Google Foo.Bar coding challenge . I also have a profile with HackerRank, with a level 4 Algorithms badge, in the 93st percentile (top 7%), and a Machine Learning badge with in the 87th percentile(top 13%) at the time of writing this, as well as 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals from programming contests on the site. My GitHub Repositories: https://github.com/D-Chase-H?tab=repositories My HackerRank.com Profile: https://www.hackerrank.com/CHarmon I am very grateful to the Google Foo.Bar team and HackerRanks for challenging me to push my knowledge of programming even further! I may never have discovered my passion for programming if it hadn't been for companies like them. I have over a year of experience working with ESRI's ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS for Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcScene, GIS Administration, and many of the ArcGIS toolboxes. Previously worked as a GIS Analyst for the city of Stephenville Texas, asthe only dedicated GIS employee. I provided GIS services to every department in the city, which required me to be versatile and adaptable. I also managed the city's ArcGIS enterprise license agreement. Previously I worked at Cobb Fendley and associates as a GIS Technician, working on a variety of internal and external projects, like zoning and land use maps, converting 3D contour line data from GIS to CAD, and natural gas line presentation maps. Major Competencies: Programming, Python, GIS, Georeferencing, Topology, GIS data conversions, Cartographic Design, Database Management, 9-1-1 Addressing Intermediate Competencies: Java, XML, Tkinter Minor Competencies: C++, C#, SQL, Jython
