I have a passion for technology that is effective not only today, but remains effective for years to come. After years in the test lab environment tracking and managing over 10,000 samples and tests, I believe the key to effective and long-lasting solutions is simplicity. Complicated and intricate solutions can sound good on paper, but they lack the flexibility that's needed to survive. While deploying a laboratory information management system (LIMS) for four test labs across the nation, I saw this first hand. Complicated solutions were either never completed, were never adopted, or couldn't adjust to new requirements. Simple solutions came to the rescue, and their flexibility kept them effective even as requirements changed.
