As a product owner for Cisco’s next-generation firewall, I'm responsible for key firewall features that drive more than 150 million dollars of revenue. Fortunate to get to work with great teams on developing challenging cybersecurity features that include the TLS decryption proxy and user identity. I work with customers and product management to understand the problems customers want to solve and with development teams to define and develop solutions to those problems. My previous roles include: - Managing the teams that developed the intrusion prevention software for Cisco’s first next-generation firewall - Software developer for Cisco’s intrusion prevention systems - A software developer and technical leader for real-time, embedded systems software. Outside of my job at Cisco, I began working with IoT product developers, bringing together my passions for cybersecurity and embedded development, to help them better secure the devices they develop. As a result of this work, I founded Symbiotic Security to help address the need for IoT products to be better secured. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with family, getting outdoors and backpacking, and advocating for effective poverty and health programs.
