My involvement in the Telecom industry began in 1995 when Scott Hansen (still one of my current business partners and lifelong friend) and I started a telecom brokerage and consulting firm, GCW Communication Consultants. Initially we contracted with LD carriers to resell their services and later evolved the business to include contracts for operator services, cellular and local dial tone. In 2000, we partnered with Rio Communications, a regional ISP turned telecom company, to help build out their Southern Oregon network and customer base - our first venture into the emerging world of the competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC).
