For our November meetup we are planning a new format: instead of having just startups pitch for co-founders, talent, and investors, we thought instead to also let techies (developers, designers, etc) pitch for startups. This time we will have seven startups pitching in addition to three techies who are looking for a startup to join or help in any way. We also listened to you: we had a few presenters to go a bit overboard with time. This time, presentations will be strictly limited to four minutes plus Q&A to keep it crisp and to the point - and enough time for you to network. Our November event takes place again at Capital Factory, conveniently located in downtown. If you are new to this group and have a project in mind or have already started a startup and need a co-founder, engineers, etc, - looking for your first angel, - or interested to join a startup, come join us for a great night of startup pitches, networking, good beer, wine and food. Please make sure that you apply with your pitch early, as we are expecting to make some difficult choices between all the great pitch proposals. Yes, we do not take that decision lightly. November 2013 Meetup Venue: Capital Factory How to get there: One of the first startups to pitch at our event was RideScout, and today they are up an running and can help you get to our event, don't have to worry about parking, get their app and ride to our meetup! Format: 7 speaking slots available (4 minutes each) for startups looking for co-founders, talent, or investors. 3 speaking slots available (4 minutes each) for techies looking for a startup (reverse pitch). Why? Because is fun! and also pitching in our Meetup let's you "practice" your pitch and get feedback from other startups and investors, always a good thing! If you want to pitch your startup to attract a co-founder, investor, talent or customers, or your are looking to join a startup as a co-founder, please send your pitch deck (PowerPoint format) which must not be longer than 3 slides (plus cover and final slide with contacts) to pitch at [email protected] to be considered. Any additional information should go into the slide notes. Deadline to submit presentation to be considered to pitch: The deadline to send your pitch deck is Monday November 4th, 2013. Remember that you'll only have max 4 minutes to present. We suggest the following outline of your presentation: For startups: 1. Who are you? 2. what is your business? 3. Why does it matter? 4. What is your business or revenue/traction model? 5. What are you asking for? For co-founders: We are not so sure what the best format is, but perhaps: 1. Who are you? 2. What do you bring to the table? 3. What are your credentials (like education, past experience, authoring, patents)? 4. What are you interested in? The presentations are limited to strictly three slides, plus one cover slide with your logo and a final slide with your contacts. If you are a software or hardware developer or UX/UI designer or developer interested in joining a cool startup, you can attend for FREE.
