I’m proud to share this awesome event, homegrown in Texas, for budding LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs across the world. In a country where you can still be discriminated against because of your sexual identity, we truly believe that becoming an entrepreneur is one of the few ways our community can create safe work environments and consumer spaces for LGBTQ+ folks. That’s why StartOut, the national nonprofit supporting LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs, created HackOut.
During this event, attendees will experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that make up life at a startup within just 52 hours. As they learn how to create real companies, they will meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders, and sponsors who are ready to help you get started. In partnership with sponsors such as the Home Depot, Capital One, Twilio and Miro, we’re working hard to take this event online for our next event on September 10-13, 2020, while keeping many of the aspects previous participants hold dear. Don’t worry - It won’t be an endless Zoom call. However, please note that all events will be done in Central Standard Time.
The deadline to apply for the event is August 22nd, 2020.
Additionally, we’re committing to diversity, inclusion and equity this year by making it a goal to increase our reach across race, gender and identity spectrums. We’re committing to the following attendee diversity goals:
20% Black or African American
20% Asian or Asian American
20% Hispanic or Latin American
20% Trans or Non-Binary Identified
40% Women
Help us make these goals a reality by applying now through the website and sharing this with any friends you think could benefit from learning about entrepreneurship.
And while you’re at it, listen to just a few previous attendees on why HackOut is a must on StartOut’s YouTube channel.
