The University of Adelaide, Milton Sims Visiting ProfessorProfessional Development Day in partnership with the ASO SA Branch Friday, 20th September 2019 at the National Wine Centre Adelaide One of the activities of the University of Adelaide Dental Research and Education Fund (DREF) is the Milton Sims Visiting Professor Project which invites eminent, internationally recognised professors to visit the Adelaide Dental School and assist with training and education of the students at the University of Adelaide. This year's visiting Professor is Professor Dr. Dieter Drescher from the University of Dusseldorf, Germany. One of the activities of the University of Adelaide Dental Research and Education Fund (DREF) is the Milton Sims Visiting Professor Project which invites eminent, internationally recognised professors to visit the Adelaide Dental School and assist with training and education of the students at the University of Adelaide. This year's visiting Professor is Professor Dr. Dieter Drescher from the University of Dusseldorf, Germany. Professor Drescher studied dentistry at the University of Bonn. He wrote his Doctorate thesis in 1984, and then undertook postgraduate education in Orthodontics completing his Ph.D. in 1991. He was the Head of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Bonn from 1993 to 1997 and since 1997 he has been professor and head of the Department of Orthodontics at the Heinrich-Heine-University of Düsseldorf. From 2002 Professor Drescher has also held the position of Executive Director of the Center of Dentistry at the University of Düsseldorf. Professor Drescher has published more than 120 articles and lectured all over the world. His main interests focus on skeletal anchorage, dentofacial orthopedics, and smart materials. On Friday, 20th September Professor Drescher will present to the local orthodontic community. His lectures will cover the following topics; “Application of skeletal anchorage in the early treatment of Class III cases.” “Space management using skeletal anchorage.” “How to place your mini implants: manually or digital” The day will be held in conjunction with an industry exhibition in the intimate surroundings of the The Vines Room and Terrace at the NWC, with generous catering and networking opportunities.
