The Mel Woodward Cup is an exciting business idea competition for all Memorial University students. Each winning team will be awarded $10,000 of leverageable funding! We invite you to watch and cheer on the final top eight teams for the third annual Mel Woodward Cup while they present their business ideas and hope to claim one of the top prizes! The finals will be a high-energy and fun-filled event where innovation and hard work will be rewarded with hard cash! *Food and non-alcoholic beverages provided. Cash bar available. Parking is free in the Emera innovation Exchange parking lot. Additional parking can be found at the Geo Centre, if the Emera parking lot is full. Grab a drink at the bar, something to eat, network, and find a seat! 6:00 pm - Welcome and introduction of judges 6:25 pm - Pitches! 7:15 pm - 10min break for food, drinks, and networking 7:25 pm - More pitches! 8:15 pm - Judging 8:45 pm - Winners announced This event is organized by the Memorial Centre for Entrepreneurship and supported generously by the family of the late Dr. Mel Woodward and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. *PLEASE NOTE: In the event of a cancellation, due to weather, the backup date for the 2019 MWC Finals will be Tuesday, April 2, 6 p.m. at the Signal Hill Campus. Notice of cancellation will be sent out through the email you have provided to Eventbrite within 12 hours of the event.
