Have a great idea for a product or business? Not sure how to get started? Join Startup 425, the King County Library System, and seasoned professionals from SCORE for a series of workshops focused on bringing your ideas to reality, from crafting a financing and marketing strategy to developing a business plan. Each session will focus on a different aspect of the startup process, and participants may choose to attend one, multiple, or all sessions, depending on individual needs and interests. Light refreshments included! Participants will exit this series with the skills and tools necessary to start or grow a business, and information on the resources available to them to assist in further refining business plans and strategies, exploring and pitching to financing partners, and marketing a product or service. Structure & Licensing (Wednesday, March 13): Learn about business structures and licensing requirements under Washington State and federal law. Ideation (Wednesday, March 27): Develop and assess your idea to determine whether it might be viable as a product. Discuss the ideation process with a panel of entrepreneurs and business owners. Financing (Wednesday, April 10): Explore your financing options, from self-financing to getting a loan. Which option might make the most sense for your business? Marketing (Wednesday, May 1): Define your target customer and how to reach them. Can social media be an effective tool? Business Plan (Wednesday, May 15): Understand the business planning process and what elements are crucial when developing your plan. Networking & Mentoring (Wednesday, June 5): Network with other local small business owners and startup founders. Discover resources for mentoring and development. Open to the first 80 registrants!
