Have a great idea for a product or business? Not sure how to get started? Join Startup 425, the King County Library System, and seasoned professionals from SCORE for a series of workshops focused on bringing your ideas to reality, from crafting a financing and marketing strategy to developing a business plan. Each session will focus on a different aspect of the startup process, and participants may choose to attend one, multiple, or all sessions, depending on individual needs and interests. Light refreshments included! Ultimately, participants will exit this series with the skills and tools necessary to start or grow a business, and information on the resources available to them to assist in further refining business plans and strategies, exploring and pitching to financing partners, and marketing a product or service. Ideation (Tuesday, March 5): Develop and assess your idea to determine whether it might be viable as a product. Discuss the ideation process with a panel of entrepreneurs and businessowners. Structure & Licensing (Tuesday, March 19): Learn about business structures and licensing requirements under Washington State and federal law. Financing (Tuesday, April 2): Explore your financing options, from self-financing to getting a loan. Which option might make the most sense for your business? Marketing (Tuesday, April 16): Define your target customer and how to reach them. Can social media be an effective tool? Business Plan (Tuesday, April 30): Understand the business planning process and what elements are crucial when developing your plan.
