Featured Speaker: Richard Carmona, MD, MPH, FACS, Former U.S. Surgeon General Registration: 5:00 - 5:30 PM Lecture: 5:30 - 7:00 PM Reception: 7:00 - 8:30 PM Speaker Bio: Richard Carmona, MD, 17th Surgeon General of the United States draws upon his experience and expertise as the nation’s top doctor and his work as a university professor, nurse, police officer and a decorated Army Special Forces war veteran to diagnose what ails Americans and our healthcare system. He prescribes a path forward that aligns stakeholders across the healthcare system and rewards behaviors that promote the health of individuals, communities and the economic vitality of the country. His presentation will focus first on preventable disease and economic burden and the use of evidence to improve health and care as well as motivate individuals to engage in healthier life styles.
