Whether creating a business case to get buy-in from executives or raising money to fund your own product, at some point we all have to pitch.  Crafting a story that connects with your audience is key. Join us for breakfast with Rebecca Sholiton, director of 1871’s accelerator program, WiSTEM. Rebecca has a wealth of knowledge in raising funds and mentoring female-led startups.  She will share her experiences and provide tips on how to tell your story and nail any pitch. This talk is for current product managers of all levels as well as current or aspiring entrepreneurs. Light breakfast will be provided.  Rebecca Sholiton is currently the Entrepreneur in Residence at 1871 where she supports the incubator's programming for female founders. She is also the Facilitator for the Food Foundry in partnership with Gordon Food Service.  Rebecca has spent the last six years founding and growing businesses – most recently a venture-backed fresh prepared foods business with a D2C and retail brand (Wise Apple); and previously, a Peru-based consultancy focused on accelerating female-led businesses through partnerships with regional and international governments and organizations (Sector3). Rebecca spent her earlier career at Deloitte Consulting in its S&O practice where she focused on Mergers & Acquisitions and Customer Experience projects. Rebecca has an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and degrees in Finance and History from the University of Texas at Austin.  She has been honored as one of the Chicago TechWeek 100 and was named the 2016 National Winner of the Edie Hunt Inspiration Award for her work supporting women in the workplace.  Rebecca was also a Forte Foundation Fellow and Zell Fellow while at Kellogg.
