Engineers create the world we live in; cars, bridges, medicines, rocket ships, and more are all the creations of scientists and engineers! Wouldn't you like to have a hand in shaping the future? Explore engineering with us! Wow! That's Engineering! is a one-day, hands-on event where girls in grades 4th-8th grade can discover the exciting world of engineering! Exercise your creativity and problem-solving skills, and engage with women engineers from across the area to delve into the varied fields of engineering. The Society of Women Engineers, in partnership with Citizens Energy Group and Rolls-Royce, is excited to bring Wow! That's Engineering! back to Indianapolis on March 9, 2019. We hope you'll join us! FAQs What's the target age group for the event? Wow! That's Engineering! is a three-track event for three different groups: 4th-5th graders, 6th-8th graders, and Parents/Teachers. We love engineering and want to share it with everyone, and we think it's important to cater the experience to needs and interests of different age groups. You can designate the track when you register below. What if I can only attend for part of the day? Because Wow! That's Engineering! is an immersive experience and we anticipate a full house, we ask that you commit to staying for the full event. Is advanced registration required? Yes! In previous years, Wow! That's Engineering! has completely sold out. We have limited spaces available, so please register online as soon as possible, so we know you're planning to join the fun! What is the cost to participate? We're thrilled to be working with our sponsors to hold this event at a very low cost to participants! On this page, you can purchase tickets for students for $5 apiece, and parents/teachers can participate for a small fee. If the cost of the event poses a financial burden, please contact [email protected]. We'll do everything we can to make the event accessible to everyone who wants to be involved! What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? IUPUI's campus is centrally located in downtown Indianapolis. We will provide validated parking on-campus, included in the price of specified tickets. IUPUI is also accessible via public transit. See www.indygo.net for details.
