April's Topic: Solar System Leftovers Most students learn in grade school that our solar system is composed of a handful of planets orbiting a central star we call the sun. However, there is a great deal more going on in our celestial neighborhood and many of these smaller leftover pieces could provide a wealth of resources and information that could hold secrets waiting to be discovered.   About Observatory Nights at Greenbush: Each of our monthly observatory nights consists of a presentation by resident astronomy guru Josh Cochran, followed by a viewing of the night sky using the research-grade telescope housed in the PSU-Greenbush Astrophysical Observatory. Smaller telescopes, binoculars, and iPads loaded with astronomy apps are also available for visitors to enjoy.  Please be aware that while we will always provide the scheduled presentation, the ability to view objects in the night sky afterward is highly dependent on the weather.
