Houston Regional GIS Expo 2019 will highlight the use of GIS-Geographic Information Systems technology by Harris County area government agencies, law enforcement, private industry and the education community.  This event is free and open to the public. Highlights: Real-time demonstrations of GIS systems used in Harris County in Exhibitor Area Speaker presentations on GIS applications ESRI presentations Map Gallery and gps/GIS enabled vehicles on display Tour of Houston TranStar and the Harris County Office of Emergency Management                                           (please register for tour at 10 am or 1pm when you get to venue) Join URISA after the Expo at a social networking event at Canyon Creek from 3pm-6pm.                                     Canyon Creek is located at 6603 Westcott St, Houston, TX 77007.  Drink and food specials                                       with a  Tex-Mex theme. Keynote:  Craig Glennie, Associate Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Houston, and the Principle Investigator of the National Science Foundation will speak about the National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping. What are my transport/parking options getting to the expo?  Shuttle Parking is available.  Park at the Texas Department of Transportation, 7600 Washington Avenue, Houston, TX 77007.  Park in the parking garage on any space not marked RESERVED.  A METRO shuttle will be making roundtrips as needed.  Please carpool when possible.   Are there ID requirements or an age limit to attend the expo?  To attend you must be 18 years of age or older, please bring ID if needed for admittance to Houston Transtar.. Is there food available at the expo?  Food trucks Mundy's and NOLA PoBoy's will be available on site. Houston TranStar is also centrally located near many food establishments.
