Benjamin Levin, MSIS, CISSP, HCISPP Benjamin Levin brings more than 35 years of healthcare administrative and information technology experience to various domains. Mr. Levin has served in many administrative roles from Executive Director to consultant. He has managed large healthcare entities and ambulatory surgical centers. He has participated in the development of the new healthcare paradigm entities of Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). He has a master’s in science information systems, is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Healthcare Information Systems Privacy Professional (HCISPP. He has assisted states in the emerging state-based Health Information Exchange (HIE) design. His knowledge of healthcare operations and technological interoperability makes his skill set unique in the digital healthcare industry. Examining Health Care Threats & Breaches Over the past year, F5 Labs has been collecting and examining multiple public and private data sources across the globe on cyber threats and defenses for applications within the enterprise. Our research noted distinct differences in data breaches and security practices for the Health & Pharmaceuticals industry sector. This talk will examine those differences, highlighting the prevailing significant threats to the health industry and the differing health-sector security practices.. Ray Pompon Ray Pompon is currently a Principal Threat Researcher Evangelist with F5 labs. Ray has over 20 years of experience in Internet security and has worked closely with Federal law enforcement in cyber-crime investigations including the FBI undercover Flyhook operation and the NW Hospital botnet prosecution. He has written IT Security Risk Control Management: An Audit Preparation Plan from Apress books. Practices to Secure Biomedical Devices Biomedical devices and the security of these devices on healthcare provider networks has been a hot button topic for the past few year. In this presentation we will discuss the current changes in the marketplace due to cybersecurity challenges, an approach to understanding the true risk posed to the organization from information security risks to biomedical devices, and a few key components of a successful medical device security strategy for a healthcare provider. Mark OdomMark is a senior manager in the Deloitte & Touche LLP Advisory Cyber Risk practice. He has over 20 years of experience in business, IT, project management and 10 years’ experience supporting information technology, security and privacy programs within the healthcare sector. His past roles include CISO, Director of IT and Vice President & CIO of health systems in the mid-west. His past experiences have allowed him to develop multiple information technology & security programs from strategy through project management to successful implementation. Areas of experience include HIPAA, Medical Device/IoT security, and technology risk management. His broad experience and solid understanding of healthcare operations makes him well qualified to deliver upon complex information security projects in diverse and heavily regulated environments. Mark serves Deloitte premier healthcare clients with technology, and information security advice and strategies across the nation. National Security Threats Impacting the Biotech/Healthcare Sectors This presentation will focus on the threat from nation state actors that impact the medical, pharmaceutical and bio-technology community. The speakers will use open source information to discuss why nation state actors are interested in medical innovation and how they will attempt to acquire and use proprietary information to further their national goals. The presentation will also discuss methods and best practices to secure this valuable information. Analyst Heather Norcross Heather Norcross has been an analyst for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for two years working in the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate. Ms. Norcross received her master’s degree in Forensic Science: Advanced Investigation from The University of New Haven and a bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science with a minor in biology from Mercyhurst College. Analyst Jasen Orme Jasen Orme has served as an analyst for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for five years and has spent the last three years working threats related to counterintelligence and economic espionage. In this role, Mr. Orme had the opportunity to participate in multiple intelligence community working groups and brief Cabinet level officials on threats to national security. Prior to his entry into employment with the FBI, Mr. Orme has worked for local and state governments, including clerking for the Utah State Court System, managing Housing and Urban Development Grants for the City of San Antonio, and a graduate fellowship with the Utah Governor's Office of Economic development where he acted as an interim Trade and Hosting Coordinator. Mr. Orme received a master’s degree in Public Administration, including a Certificate in Global Management, from Brigham Young University's Marriot School of Management in 2012 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mandarin Chinese in 2009, also from Brigham Young University.
