How can AI drive a meaningful rise in sales and loyalty? The potential of machine learning recommendation systems driven by conversational chat analysis or computer vision give powerful insights into what consumer preferences are. Getting the right offers out front saves consumers time, makes them feel more heard, and leads to higher sales. We’ll hear from Joseph Babcock, Lead - Data & Experimentation at Jetblack giving key examples from Netflix' recommender and systems at Jetblack and Balaji Ravindran of Markable on the impact of computer vision and deep learning for retail recommendations. Please note the location at Betaworks Studios. While traditionally these models use implicit signals such asorder histories, new formats such as natural language may provide richer context for understanding consumer choice. In this talk I will draw examples from the Netflix recommender system and Jetblack to illustrate the changing landscape of these technologies, as well as the opportunities and challenges for machine learning in the domain of conversational commerce. Talk 2: Computer vision and deep learning AI for fashion retailers when words aren't enough Computer vision AI unlocks the ability to delight a customer with a product match when what they're looking for just can't be put into words. How can fashion and other visually oriented shopping businesses prepare to embark on this journey of process automation and implement machine learning? How does a system like this get trained?
