NYCML'18 is a snapshot of the best thinking, projects and talent from across the City's industry and university ecosystem. Through thought-provoking discussions, hands-on workshops, and 100 innovative demos, attendees will consider pressing issues related to digital media innovation. The event is hosted by The New School, with an Open Lab Day on Friday September 21st at NYU Kimmel Center. Reasons to Attend: CONVERSATIONS ON THE FUTURE OF MEDIA NYCML'18 features keynotes and discussions that explore the intersection of technology and civic engagement—including the key trends that will drive how media is produced, consumed, distributed and monetized. EXPLORE CUTTING-EDGE PROTOTYPES From VR/AR to data science, the demo expo at NYCML'18 shows off the latest thinking in design and engineering from the city's university community. 100 live demonstrations will be on view in a science-fair style expo. EMERGING ENTREPRENEURS TAKE CENTER STAGE Hear pitches from early stage, university-formed startups. First time entrepreneurs will pitch the next generation of media and technology concepts, spanning a diverse range of industry applications. LEARN THE LATEST TOOLS & APPLICATIONS Hands-on workshops offer attendees the opportunity to gain experience with new technology tools and applications. Led by faculty experts and industry leaders, the NYCML'18 workshop program encourages interactivity and learning.
