This free workshop is for avocational archaeologists and anyone interested in archaeological collections management, ages 7+.  If under 15 years old, adult accompaniment is required. LOCATION:  Room 140, Department of Anthropology, University of Wyoming, Laramie WY 82071 PARKING:  FREE in the parking lot behind the Anthropology Building off of Bradley Street FOOD:  Refreshements and lunch provided - let us know of any dietary restrictions ahead of time SCHEDULE:   9am - 3pm (lunch noon-1pm) TOPICS: Why do archaeologists collect and store artifacts? How do archaeologists record, keep track of, and preserve the artifacts and data that they collect?  Why is maintaing this data important? How do archaeologists and curators make these artifacts and data available to the public? How do private collectors and their data fit into these efforts? How can private collectors make sure that their artifacts are being collected and preserved in a way that ensures their future usefulness and enjoyment?  Using different artifact types from a real site in Wyoming, participants will: Clean Label Bag Tag Enter artifact and site information into UWAR's database
