The AEA Summer Leadership Conference has been designed with you in mind! This year our conference sessions will build on each previous topic so you leave with a better understanding of your association, profession and student success. This year, attendees can select specific tracks where each workshop is designed to provide complimentary skills. When you register, you will be asked to choose one of the following tracks. Please review each Track and its description, select the "Tickets" button and choose your 2018 Leadership Track. Local Presidents & Vice Presidents Track – This track will focus on identifying the requirements and expectations for serving in the local president and vice president roles. The information, skills, and experiences shared will help members serving in these roles develop and enhance their local leadership to build a stronger local association. Local Secretary, Treasurer, and Board Member Track – Changes are being required of members serving in leadership roles, including the local secretary, treasurer, and board member roles. An overview of the requirements and expectations for serving in these leadership positions, as well as information, skills, and experiences will be shared. It is essential for leadership teams to work together in the best interests of the local association. Building Representative and Member Track – The majority of association members’ interactions with the association are at the building level. This is where information, concerns, and ideas are most likely to be shared. Working with local building representatives and members to develop effective meeting and information skills will help build a strong local association. Current issues information, best practices, and skills that are beneficial will be shared. Education Support Professionals Track – The challenges faced by ESP members can be significantly different than those of certified members. ESP leaders and staff will provide information that is unique for classified members, as well as current information and skills that leaders can use to strengthen locals.
