Event Details

The Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council invites all natural resource professionals, invasive plant researchers, students, and others interested in this topic to the 2018 FLEPPC Annual Conference April 4th–6th at the Crowne Plaza Oceanfront in Melbourne, Florida. This year’s theme: Winds of Change: Adaptive Management Under Changing Conditions. SPECIAL NOTE: There will be a strategic planning session all day Tuesday, April 3 followed by the FLEPPC Board Meeting. The CISMA session will be held on the morning of April 4th, 9 AM - NOON. In lieu of field trips on Thursday, April 5, there will be an interactive herbicide workshop. This will be followed by a Garden of Good and Evil plant ID session. Attendees will see live invasive plants, their look-alikes, EDRR species, etc.  All attendees will benefit from the information exchange and networking opportunities afforded by this conference including a vendor product display. CEUs will be offered in several categories. The agenda will feature a plenary session and panel discussion highlighting plant responses and management considerations relating to environmental factors such as hurricanes, elevated CO2, range expansions, etc. There will be a graduate student competition with cash prizes for best oral presentation and best poster presentation. A welcome social and oceanside banquet round out the conference.
