Welcome to the 10th Annual Maine Partners in Emergency Preparedness Conference! We partner with hundreds of public, private, and nonprofit leaders for a unique learning and networking experience. As the nation continues to recover from the devastation caused by hurricanes, wildfires, train derailments and other disasters, the overall theme for this year's conference will be Prepare to Recover. Each track will represent a key function in the recovery process: economic, health and social services, housing, infrastructure systems, and natural and cultural resources. There will also be tracks for technological hazards (like Hazardous Materials) and other important emergency management topics. This year's keynote speakers are: Greg Forrester, President & CEO of the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD), and he will be address the National VOAD response to Hurricane Matthew (Day 1). Pat Murtagh, the Chief Executive Director of the American Red Cross-Maine Region, will host a panel discussion on the 2017 American Red Cross Response and Recovery efforts around the U.S. (Day 2). The conference schedule will be placed on our website by the end of January and can be found at this link www.maineprepares.com A copy of our DRAFT Schedule can be found here: http://www.maine.gov/mema/prepare/conference/
