Rich with resources such as Georgia Tech, Emory University, and numerous Fortune 500 company headquarters, Atlanta has attracted huge numbers of entrepreneurs looking to launch new companies and put their ideas on the map.” Within the last ten years, the changes to Atlanta’s tech scene have been astronomical. Startups like Mailchimp, Storyful, SalesLoft, and Calendly call Atlanta home and bring innovation to our city. This panel will be discussing these changes answering questions like; Who are the key players? How is getting a tech job different?  What opportunities are available? Join us as this panel dives deep into these questions and more. Panelist: Muriel Vega is the associate editor of Hypepotamus, the leading startup- and technology-focused news publication and community resource in the Southeast. She spends her days telling the stories of emerging startup founders and tech leaders in the Southeast and sharing their successes and failures with Hype's readers. You can find her bylines at Venture Beat, Atlanta Magazine, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and more. Aubrey Rhodes is the director of engineering at Brightwell Payments Inc. Brightwell is a payments company offering comprehensive prepaid solutions for corporations and consumers. Aubrey graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S in computer science and worked with Mailchimp and Big Nerd Ranch. Gaining insight and experience with 13 years of being in the Atlanta tech scene and watching it grow. Tricia Whitlock is a writer, an advocate of the Atlanta startup ecosystem, and the Director of Marketing at Your Ideas Are Terrible, Enterprise Growth Institute & the BridgeCommunity - all focused on enterprise innovation. Most recently she helped Georgia State University expand their entrepreneurial efforts - opening an incubator, building a resource directory and coaching students on ideation, pitching and customer discovery. Trish previously served as the Director of Marketing at TechSquare Labs, an incubator, and seed fund and kickstarted Hypepotamus as a publication - now the largest tech blog in the Southeast. Tricia has been published in Venture Atlanta, served as an event reporter on NBC's Atlanta Tech Edge and co-hosted the Incubator Podcast. Clint Hill’s interest in technology was fostered by building computers with his dad as a child. His career in software development has spanned everything from CAD software engineering to working in Aflac’s prototyping lab and creating 3-D models for manufacturers. Clint joined Kabbage, a global financial services, technology and data platform serving small businesses, in 2013 to play a key part in the company’s technology innovation. Now as Head of Architecture and Security, he designs software solutions for Kabbage and its global bank partners.
