Event Details
MIG welding workshops are approximately two hours long and cover shop safety and etiquette, machine set up, material preparation, butt/ lap/ fillet/ corner welds, and clean up procedures. Engineering students who complete at least a MIG workshop will have access to the welding shop for class-project use throughout the remainder of their academic career at CU Boulder. Wear long pants (no synthetics, capris, gym clothes, shorts or tights), closed-toed shoes(no mesh running shoes or slippers), and socks (no bare ankles). If you have long hair you’ll need to tie it back, well out of the way of spinning grinders and hot sparks. Safety expectations in the welding shop are the same as the Idea Forge Machine Shop.
