Solar is a dynamic and fast-growing industry in Texas - solar jobs in the state increased by 33% last year! We are excited to be hosting a free career fair and networking event at the second annual Solar Business Festival to bring together solar employers and job seekers.  Part of Texas Solar Business Week, the festival is a 2-day solar conference and exhibition in Texas with hundreds of companies and professionals in attendance. Solar companies, whether attending the conference or not, are invited to attend and exhibit at the career fair!  Event Logistics: When: The fair will take place from 2-5pm, on November 29, 2017. This fair will allow you to network, info-interview, and connect with hiring managers and HR representatives from solar. You will also have access to the SBF Exhibitor Hall, Speed Networking, Business Card Showcase, Exhibition Stage Presentation, and Reception. Be sure to bring your resume and dress professionally, because many employers will be hiring! If you want to attend the entire conference, you can also receive a 50% discounted conference registration! One Day Pass: $70 = $35 Discounted | Full Pass: $120 = $60 Discounted We want you to start a meaningful career in the solar industry, so we pack these career fairs with the support and resources you need to succeed - your solar dream job is out there; we’ll help you find it. Exhibitors Participating in this career fair is completely free, and it will give you access to dozens of local job seekers and students looking to work in solar and related fields. Our job fairs bring out talented and passionate individuals who are eager to continue or start their career.  A few other major benefits include company branding in the on-site booklet Solar Career Fair page (if registered before 11/17), free access to the SBF Exhibitor Hall, Speed Networking, Business Card Showcase, SBF Exhibition Stage Presentation, and the Reception.  FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Exhibitor FAQs How many people should we send? We recommend you send a hiring manager and/or HR representative who can answer questions about your open positions, potential future hiring, and the types of jobs you typically have available in general. Only one representative is necessary to successfully participate in this event. If you are actively hiring several positions, we recommend sending two for increased efficiency at your table (as you will likely have a line). Note: Limit one table per company. What can I bring into the event? Bring any relevant company marketing materials, HR hiring/recruiting info, company SWAG, and/or anything related. You are not required to bring any materials, though many of the other exhibiting companies will. We prefer you do not bring large banners or pop-up marketing materials, as they can block the view of the other tables. Will I have an assigned table? No, tables will be first come, first served. We advise arriving 1:15-1:30 to set-up. How many attendees are expected? Exhibiting companies? We hope to have around 100 job seekers/students to attend, and roughly a dozen solar companies.  What type of career event is this? This career fair is intended to be a networking and career exploration event – NOT a hiring event. You will not be required to hold interviews on the spot or even have open positions in order to attend. Our goal is to give job seekers exposure to your organizations and, hopefully, help you secure great, solar-interested candidates for your open positions now and in the future.. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? You can direct questions to Megan Howes at [email protected] or Colin Nackerman at [email protected] Job Seeker/Student FAQ’s What should I bring? We recommend you bring your resume and dress in professional attire. This will serve two purposes; it will help you make a great first impression with potential employers, and it will also allow you to take advantage of our free headshot station and our resume consulting. Pro tip: We also recommend you bring a list of questions to ask each company, this will help you compare notes on them afterward, across equal categories. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? You are not required to as we will have your name on the attendee list. On-site registration is also allowed, so in the event of a system issue, you will absolutely still be admitted! Are there any costs? None! This event, including attendance, professional headshots, and resume consulting is completely FREE! How many companies are expected to attend? We anticipate 10-20 companies will be in attendance. You will receive an email with all of the companies that attended after the show for your networking purposes. What other career resources do you offer? The premier sponsor of this event, “Solar Training Network” is a program administered by The Solar Foundation. Its website (www.SolarTrainingUSA.org) is an online solar career networking platform designed specifically to help people find jobs in the solar industry! This program is also completely free, and it helps you find solar companies, and solar training opportunities to advance your career, all over the country. We HIGHLY recommend registering for free on SolarTrainingUSA.org and increasing your solar network.
