Decred is an open and progressive cryptocurrency with a system of community-based governance integrated into its blockchain. https://www.decred.org/ What is Politeia? Politeia is Decred’s new platform for storing governance data off chain. https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/decred-launches-proposal-system-advance-blockchain-governance/ What is the Politeia Platform Contest?Decred’s Politeia (governance proposal system), has a vast amount of potential uses. As such, Decred can only reasonably explore a few of them on their own. The Politeia Platform Challenge is a competition designed to discover alternate uses for the Politeia codebase. Competitors will use Politeia source code to create innovative and functional use cases and then demonstrate how they work. Competitors are encouraged to work in teams but may work independently. National competitors will be able to demonstrate their projects remotely through video conferencing. The competition date will be announced shortly, and is expected to be in late January or early Feburary 2018.
