Opening Session Delores Bischof, Program Analyst, U.S. Department of Labor Women’s Bureau                           Concurrent Empowerment Workshops    Session One   Interview Skills & Pay Negotiations – This session will focus on providing attendees the skills to better prepare for an interview and how to evaluate and negotiate a job offer.  The goal for this session is to develop awareness on interviewing techniques to successfully prepare for future interviews and provide attendees with how to recognize their needs and examine factors of pay negotiation.  Presented by: Kwa heri Harris, Emergency Management Director, City of Garland   OR   Emotional Intelligence – This session will provide insight into emotional intelligence, what it is and how to use it.  The goal for this session is for attendees to develop self-awareness and self-management of personal emotions. Presented by: Vanessa Jones, Human Resources Supervisor, City of Dallas   Session Two   Work Life Balance – This session will teach attendees how to manage their time better and to be more efficient at work to produce better results.  The goal is to assist attendees on how to focus on prioritizing tasks, setting accurate and achievable goals, and communicating better with peers at work and family members at home. Presented by: Tameji Berry, Assistant Fire Chief, City of Dallas   OR   Career Planning – This session will provide attendees with the basic process of personal future planning, the discovery process, and their relationship to career planning.  The goal for this session is for attendees to gain techniques of developing a personal career profile, a desired personal career future statement, and a functional individual career plan.  Presented by: Yasmin Barnes, Director of Human Resources & Civil Service, City of Waxahachie     Closing Session "Real Talk" Panel Discussion with City Leaders Yoko Matsumoto, Director of Libraries, City of Arlington T.C.
