Course Objectives In this two-day hands-on course, you will learn to build, manage, and monitor Kafka clusters using industry best-practices developed by the world’s foremost Kafka experts. You will learn how Kafka and the Confluent Platform work, their main subsystems, their functions, how they interact, and how to set up, manage, and tune your cluster. Who Should Attend? This course is designed for engineers and operations staff responsible for building, managing, and tuning Kafka clusters. Course Prerequisites Attendees should have a strong knowledge of Linux/Unix, and understand basic TCP/IP networking concepts. Familiarity with the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is helpful. No prior knowledge of Kafka is required. Course Duration This is a two-day training course. Live Online Training This course is delivered live online, via Webex. Joining instructions will be sent the day before the course starts. To test your connectivity please visit http://www.webex.com/test-meeting.html. Note that using Linux to connect to the Webex session is not supported. The course is delivered from 9am to 4:30pm Central time each day. You will need a computer to connect to the WebEx session, and to connect to the cloud-based VM or run a local VM using VirtualBox.
