USAID, Microsoft, DIAL and SSG Advisors cordially invite you to join your peer organizations in the global internet access community to discuss the findings and opportunities for action arising from two new publications: A landscape and gap analysis of ongoing internet access activities, based on research by SSG Advisors for DIAL and USAID Insights on business model innovations for improved final mile access , based on research by Caribou Digital for DIAL and USAID The Universal Access Reports Launch event will share ways to promote greater and more impactful action against the three recommendations in the SSG/DIAL/USAID report. At the event, we will explore gaps and opportunities for action in the global response to universal access. The Sustainable Development Goals include SDG9c, which calls upon the global community to achieve universal and affordable access to the internet in least developed countries (LDCs) by 2020. In order to realize this goal, global actors must identify and together address gaps in the global access effort, strengthening their ability to collaborate for more collective impact. Embedding connectivity into mainstream development activities, strengthening investment to identify innovative business models, and illumination of consistent best practices for expanding access are three areas that present opportunities for greater collective action.
