The Labs at DC Public Library are hosting a Teen Techathon for Black History Month. The Teen Techathon seeks to pique African-American and other minority students’ interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) fields. This event will offer a maker fair, interactive workshops, and presentations where youth can engage. Furthermore, the Techathon will also empower parents to prepare their children for a future in STEAM. All are welcomed, however, this event is geared towards teens 12 - 19 years of age. Industry leaders such as Microsoft, Catylator Makerspace, NASA, Futuremakers and more will be in attendance. Maker Fair: Will be held in the Great Hall. Presentations: First come, first served. Listing of times, organizations, and topics with posted on January 9th. Workshops: Registration for workshops will be posted on January 9th. There are limited tickets for workshops. Locations vary within the building, your ticket will display room assigned. Only teens can participate in workshops.
