Event Details

During this one day event, students will spend their time learning about local natural resources featuring the upper Peace River Watershed through marsh tours of the head waters, learning about native and invasive species of plants and animals. Presentations, music and educational exhibits such as a Hands-on Wildlife Safari for habitat loss, butterfly tent with craft activity, science/math carees and LIVE wildlife demonstrations are examples of what will be exhibited to highlight Polk County’s natural resources.  The event coordinators, Polk County Board of County Commissionsers, Parks and Natural Resources Division, strive to provide vendors that help students understand some common conservation issues in the Upper Peace River Watershed and in turn promote personal responsibility from these students for their watershed.  Vendors will be positioned along the trails and in our Nature Center Buildings.  Funding assistance provided by Charlotter Harbor National Estuary Program made this event possible.

Location
Polk's Nature Discovery Center at Circle B Bar Reserve
