Please join us for our lecture series, featuring world-class scientists and modern day marine adventurers. The Evening Tide Talks series at The Florida Aquarium is presented by Wells Fargo, and the Tampa Bay Arts and Education Network is the media partner for Evening Tide Talks. Joseph Dituri, M.S.CDR, US Navy Saturation Diving Officer (ret) “My Daddy Wears a Different Kind of Suit to Work”: A Career in Marine Exploration and Deep Diving What does a career in marine exploration and deep diving look like from the perspective of a 13-year-old? Teen Josephine Amy Dituri partnered with her exploration-adept father to chronicle her father’s life in a book for young kids whose parents are divers or interested in the undersea realm. Jospeph Dituri’s underwater adventures have spanned the globe and include finding new species while helping develop and test the newest undersea technologies. A graduate of the Advanced Management Program at University of Virginia Darden, School of Business, Joseph is currently pursuing his PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of South Florida. He strives to improve the undersea industry's triple bottom line while promoting quality and safety standards. With extensive technical and operational experience in every facet of the undersea realm, from saturation diving, submersible design, system certification and operations to policy development, his explorations have contributed to being named a Fellow in the Explorers Club, an honor reserved for those who have distinguished themselves by directly contributing to scientific knowledge in the field of geographical exploration or allied sciences. FAQs Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? There is no age limit, however most of our Tide Talks tend to be geared toward an adult audience unless otherwise specificed. Complimentary wine is provided to those 21 and older only. What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? Free parking is offered in the Florida Aquarium parking lot Where can I contact the organizer with any questions? Yes, please update any guest number changes or cancellations to your reservation as soon as possible prior to the event. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? A printied ticket is not required. Please check in at the Main Entrance to the Aquarium when you arrive and those that have RSVPed will be let in at 5:45 PM.
