Byron Reese (Gigaom)
Byron has produced a diverse body of patented work and has authored an award-winning book about the future of technology. He's presently publisher of Gigaom and finishing up a book on artificial intelligence set to be published in 2017 by Atria, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
Bloomberg Businessweek credits Byron with having “quietly pioneered a new breed of media company.” Wired Magazine describes him as “a tall Texan who serves as Demand’s chief innovation officer and who created the idea-spawning algorithm that lies at the heart of Demand’s process.” The Financial Times of London reported that he “is typical of the new wave of internet entrepreneurs out to turn the economics of the media industry on its head.” And Business Insider concluded that Byron “seems like a kooky – and awesome guy… We’d love to buy him a beer.”

With a natural passion for entrepreneurship he's had since childhood, Leo has founded multiple startups focused on technology and social impact. Along with being the Chapter Director for StartupGrind Baltimore, Leo is deeply involved in the local tech and startup communities. He is the Venture Advisor and a Lead Mentor for AccelerateDC, a MIT based mentorship program that aims to influence and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders. He is currently the Cofounder of AMPlus, a Partner at Gratii, and sits on the Board of Advisors for various startups in the region.
